In line with the metaphor and sacred geometry of the labyrinth, Spiritual Eldering retreats and classes are set up to offer support and encouragement for elders who wish to explore new and creative approaches to living this latter period of life with more balance, inner peace, joy, and loving awareness. Together we explore practices for physical, psychological and spiritual wellbeing which give more ease in meeting the challenges and uncertainties that accompany ageing.
Since 2015, I have given online as well as in person classes on Spiritual Eldering. These have taken place as weekly classes for eight sessions of two hours for small groups of 10 – 20 people. These regular meetings create a safe and protective space for participants to openly share their processes together. This disperses any illusion that eldering is an alone and isolated journey.
What I have loved the most, however, is offering Spiritual Eldering as retreats. These have been online (during the corona pandemic) as well as in person at beautiful, healing locations in nature. I regularly offer these retreats as a way for us to withdraw from the hectic pace of outer life and come to a relaxing rhythm of contemplative inner work on the core themes mentioned above. Such retreats take place on the magical island of northwestern Crete as well as by the seaside monastery in the Netherlands. There is a lot more “digestion” and integration time in nature during the retreats as we have more free time to explore this on our own during walks in the afternoons.
